Peep-In Installation, 2019, Site Specific Installation During, Miami Art Week
Peep-In Installation The following installation brings light to identity, lineage, and conversations on privacy. By peeping in, viewers encounter references of my work, process, family photographs, and the Blickensderfer typewriter, invented by my great- great-great grandfather, George Canfield Blickensderfer (1850–1917), in the late 1800s. His machines were the first truly portable typewriters. For me, the typewriter symbolizes invention and entrepreneurship, as a female business owner, which appears often in the abstractions of my work. My intention is to create a bridge between the past and the present, the private and the public, the personal and the universal.
