The New York Studio School Alumni Association presents the 2020 Alumni Exhibition, hosted virtually on Artsy, June 10 – July 31, 2020. The exhibition features the work of 216 alumni from every decade of the School, born between 1930-1993.

One of the School’s founding principles, espoused by both Founding Dean Mercedes Matter and Dean Graham Nickson, is the idea that it takes time and commitment for an artist to truly arrive at something significant. Recognizing this, we take this opportunity to highlight some of our longest working graduates which include Marianne Barcellona, Lois Baron, James Bohary, Leone Furler, Alice Garik, Howard Kalish, Kriby Kendrick, Jack King, Bonnie Maranz, Janet Sawyer, and Sandy Walker.

Of special note, this year’s Mercedes Matter Awards will be selected by six exceptional gallerists to whom we are extremely grateful: Christine Berry from Berry Campbell, Paul Efstathiou from Hollis Taggart, Miles McEnery from Miles McEnery, Catherine Bernath and Madeleine Mermall from Public Swim and Gwenolee Zürcher from Zürcher Gallery.
